The show was so terrific that it attracted major talent to do cameos and voice-over work. Joan Rivers, Gene Wilder and Zero Mostel were the voices of "The Adventures Of Letterman." Mel Brooks was the voice of the animated "Blonde-Haired Cartoon Man." The satirist Tom Lehrer wrote ten songs for the show. "The Electric Company" was a product of it's time - perennially cool and hip, while never wavering from it's educational goals; it was full of wit and energy and made learning to read fun. The prospects might have been too promising, as they enabled Hayworth's agents at the William Morris company to renegotiate her already lucrative studio contract. In "Down To Earth," Rita Hayworth's talents are absolutely show-stopping, and with the release of this film, it's easy to see why she earned the reputation as the Silver Screen's one and only Love Goddess.
